World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-CXIV

Transcience — it may well be a cheerless word,

Transcience — it may well be a cheerless word,

For in fact, time takes everything away.

Yet not so cheerless, because the stream of time

Can do nothing against the kernel of eternity.
