It is my karma that I must, and may, be man.

Is not man the door
To the meaning of existence, and so to bliss?
God grant that the human condition lead us not astray.
God awaits us; be ye ready for Him.
C’est mon karma si je dois être homme,
C’est mon karma si je dois être homme,
Et ai le droit de l’être. L’homme n’est-il pas la porte
Vers le sens de l’existence, et ainsi vers la béatitude ?
Plaise à Dieu que l’état humain ne nous séduise point —
Dieu nous attend ; soyez prêts pour Lui.
Es ist mein Karma, dass ich Mensch sein muss,
Es ist mein Karma, dass ich Mensch sein muss,
Und Mensch sein darf. Ist nicht der Mensch die Türe
Zum Sinn des Daseins, so zur Seligkeit?
Geb Gott, dass uns das Menschsein nicht verführe —
Gott harret unser; seid für Ihn bereit.
