Serenity: the soul abstains
From all dreaming about things.
Complementary to this is act: only one thing resounds
In the heart, the Presence of the Most High.
Then there is peace that calms all agitation:
Resignation to what is written.
Then certitude, that fills the spirit:
Love of the deep, inward life of Truth.
And finally there is the mystery of Oneness:
Absolutely real is the Lord alone.
The complementary pole is Selfhood:
Beyond all concepts is the silence of my real Being.
Sérénité : l’âme s’abstient
Sérénité : l’âme s’abstient
De tous rêves des choses.
Et d’autre part l’Acte : dans le cœur ne résonnera
Qu’une seule chose, la Présence du Très-Haut.
Et puis la Paix, qui calme l’agitation :
Résignation à ce qui est écrit.
Ensuite la Certitude, qui remplit l’esprit :
De la Vérité, aimer la profonde Vie intérieure.
Et finalement le mystère de l’Unicité :
Absolument réel est le Seigneur seul.
Et puis l’autre pôle, l’Identité :
Au-delà de tous les concepts, mon Être est silence.

Enthält sich allen Träumens von den Dingen.
Und andrerseits die Tat: im Herzen wird
Nur Eins, des Höchsten Gegenwart, erklingen.
Und dann der Friede, der die Unrast stillt:
Ergebenheit in das, was steht geschrieben.
Dann die Gewissheit, die den Geist erfüllt:
Der Wahrheit innres, tiefes Leben lieben.
Und schließlich das Mysterium Einzigkeit:
Unbedingt wirklich ist der Herr allein.
Und dann der andre Pol, die Selbigkeit:
Jenseits aller Begriffe schweigt mein Sein.
