Cheyenne Chief

In the book The Feathered Sun (World Wisdom, 1990), this painting is reproduced on page 75. It is titled “Cheyenne Chief” and its date is given as 1963. The chief has a blanket over one arm and is portrayed in front of a tipi with the central symbol of the feathered sun, lightning, a thunderbird, and a stylized buffalo head. Note that the warrior-chief also wears a symbol of concentric circles in the center of his chest.
