Metaphysik und Esoterik im Überblick (e-book)

“There are truths which are inherent in the human mind, but which are buried in the depth of the heart, as it were, according to the state of things, that is, they are present as possibilities or as hidden power in the pure mind: These are the basic and primordial truths, those which point to and condition all others”. In no other book did Frithjof Schuon present the metaphysics consisting of these basic and primal truths more clearly and comprehensively. Furthermore, he writes about the exoteric and esoteric expression that this teaching finds in various religious traditions as well as about the corresponding transformation of human nature on the spiritual path; for the “knowledge of the whole demands from man the wholeness of knowledge. It demands beyond our thinking our whole being”.

Frithjof Schuon (1907-1998) is regarded in large parts of the world as one of the most important religious-philosophical writers of the 20th century. He is considered to be the leading representative of the direction of thought which is called Sophia perennis (“everlasting wisdom”) and which contains the timeless and everywhere valid principles which underlie the various teachings, the symbols, the sacred art and the spiritual exercises of the world religions.

“A great book that exceeds even the expectations of this Master’s most faithful readers. Through an even greater condensation and radiance of his wisdom, Schuon once again proves the inexhaustible beauty of truth”. (James S. Cutsinger, Professor at the University of South Carolina,
Author of Advice to the Serious Seeker (Meditations on the Teaching of Frithjof Schuon)

“Once again, we’re looking for superlatives. This book is not aimed at everyone, because it places high demands on the metaphysical understanding of readers. But for those who think philosophically, it is something like the Principia Metaphysica, in which the principles of being are presented with almost mathematical economy and precision. The author once again proves himself to be the most comprehensive metaphysicist of our century, whose thinking is of architectural clarity”. (Huston Smith, author of The Seven Great Religions of the World)
