Before his spirit, there was no vantage point

From which to contemplate the essence of these things —

From alpha to omega, he gave names to all.

Man, as an image of God,

Is capable of naming every thing

Thanks to a light that streams out of Eternal Light —

And thus he also has the gift of knowing God.

Avant son esprit, nul point de vue n’existait

Pour contempler les choses, en percer la nature —

Il les nomma, de l’alpha jusqu’à l’oméga.

L’homme, comme Image de Dieu,

Est capable de nommer chaque chose,

Grâce à une lumière qui jaillit de la Lumière originelle —

Ainsi possède-t-il aussi le don de connaître Dieu.

Vor seinem Geist war gar kein Standpunkt da,

Die Dinge zu betrachten, zu durchschauen —

Er nannte sie, Alpha bis Omega.

Der Mensch, als Gottes Ebenbild,

Ist fähig, jedes Ding zu nennen,

Dank eines Lichts, das aus dem Urlicht quillt —

So hat er auch die Gabe, Gott zu kennen.
