Pneumátikos: Wisdom is his blood;

And yet: Ex Oriente Lux — which means:

Many a sacred word came from the East;

To it thou owest thy knowledge of gnosis.

But the source lies in the core of our being,

Around which our thoughts are gathered;

Truth’s lightning does not come from far away —

Before we were, it was within our heart.

Et pourtant : Ex Oriente Lux — à savoir :

Maintes paroles élevées vinrent de l’Orient,

Auquel tu es redevable de ce que tu sais de la gnose.

L’origine toutefois est dans l’intime substance,

Autour de laquelle nos pensées s’assemblent ;

L’éclair de la Vérité ne vient pas d’un étranger lointain.

Il était dans notre cœur, avant que nous ne fussions.

Und dennoch: Ex Oriente Lux — das heißt:

Von Osten her kam manches hohe Wort,

Dem du verdankst, was du von Gnosis weißt.

Jedoch der Ursprung ist im Wesenskerne,

Um den sich unsere Gedanken scharen;

Der Wahrheit Blitz kommt nicht aus fremder Ferne —

Er war in unserm Herz, bevor wir waren.
