One adds: Allah’s Blessing and Peace

Be upon him. Vertical is the ray of Blessing,

And horizontal is the sunlit shore of Peace.

Combat too is in the Prophet, Holy War,

Outward and inward, and the victory of Light.

All this describes the good man and the sage:

What God has given him comes from above;

Whereas the receiver, the pure heart,

Is like a flower bathed with dew —

Jewel in the lotus. Let us be open —

A calyx open for God’s ray of light.

On ajoute : sur lui soit la Bénédiction d’Allâh

Et la Paix. Vertical est le rayon de Bénédiction ;

Horizontal est le rivage ensoleillé de la Paix.

Le combat existe aussi chez le Prophète, la Guerre Sainte,

Extérieure et intérieure, et la victoire de la Lumière.

Tout cela décrit l’homme bon et le sage :

D’En Haut arrive tout ce que Dieu lui donne ;

Mais le réceptacle, le cœur pur,

Est pareil à une fleur, abreuvée de rosée —

Joyau dans le lotus. Soyons ouverts —

Un calice de fleur sous l’éclat des rayons divins.

Fügt man hinzu: Auf ihm sei Allāhs Gnade

Und Friede. Senkrecht ist der Gnade Strahl;

Waagrecht des Friedens sonniges Gestade.

Auch Kampf ist im Propheten, Heilger Krieg,

Außen und Innen, und des Lichtes Sieg.

All dies beschreibt den Guten und den Weisen:

Von Oben kommt, was Gott ihm hat geschenkt;

Doch das Empfangende, das reine Herz,

Ist einer Blume gleich, vom Tau getränkt —

Kleinod im Lotos. Lasst uns offen sein —

Ein Blumenkelch in Gottes Strahlenschein.
