World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes I-III-XCVII
In Basel, where the red Cathedral stands,
In Basel, where the red Cathedral stands,
The Rhine bends and flows towards the
And there it loses itself in the vast sea,
As if it wished to find its final rest.
Thus does the grace of illumination change the course
Of earthly life. Let us flow upwards,
Toward the spiritual North and the Eternal Sea —
And may God’s Peace take us unto Itself.
