Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-CLXII

One should distinguish between a defect

One should distinguish between a defect

And a weakness; I call the latter harmless,

And the former harmful, an offense to God.

Weaknesses there may also be in Paradise —

For man has the right to enter Heaven;

God allows His children to be human.

Car au Ciel, l’homme a droit d’y entrer ;

Denn in den Himmel darf der Mensch hinein;

Gott lässt uns Menschenkinder menschlich sein.
