Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. I-VI-VIII
All-Possibility: from it stem the many things
All-Possibility: from it stem the many things
That we see in the world and in life;
All destiny’s colors, joys and pains,
In Mâyâ’s unfathomable play.
See the colorful splendor of the many birds:
Here are the red ones, there the blue and yellow.
God did not make us from
Each living being willed itself.
God said: I was a Treasure, but no one knew
Of It; then came the world, which had to know Me.
Toute-Possibilité : d’elle provient toute la multiplicité
Toute-Possibilité : d’elle provient toute la multiplicité
Que nous discernons dans le monde et la vie ;
Allmöglichkeit: aus ihr kommt all das Viele
Allmöglichkeit: aus ihr kommt all das Viele
Das wir in Welt und Leben unterscheiden;
Auch alle Schicksalsfarbe, Lust und Leiden,
In Mâyâs unberechenbarem Spiele –
