Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-CXXXV

Two things make man happy

Two things make man happy

Within the framework of life’s loan:

Firstly the beautiful, which he has the right to experience;

And then his creative activity, whose meaning gives him joy.

Above this shines, like the star of benediction,

The happiness of everything that brings us to the Lord.

D’une part le beau qu’il a le droit de vivre ;

Im Rahmen dessen, was das Leben leiht:

Einmal das Schöne, das er darf erleben;

Das Glück all dessen, was uns bringt zum Herrn.
