Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-IV

The mentally sick man does not know himself,

The mentally sick man does not know himself,

And what he says is hardly trustworthy;

Not that he consciously falsifies things —

But his psychic life is awry.

In the psychopath, there is always a door

To the devil; but who can force him

To open it to the enemy? Where prudence reigns —

Beneath humility’s heavenly banner —

The evil one’s cunning will not succeed.

Et ce qu’il dit n’est guère digne de confiance ;

Und was er sagt, ist kaum vertrauenswert;
