Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-LXIV
It is said that everything on earth
It is said that everything on earth
Is imperfect. Yes, but also
For without manifestation of the Divine
This world could not be real.
Thou canst certainly see the good and the beautiful
In the world. So look upon it with a noble
See God’s intention, see what is essential;
And find thy happiness in gratitude and in God.
On dit que tout sur cette terre
On dit que tout sur cette terre
Est imparfait. Oui et non —
Car sans manifestation du Divin,
Le monde ne pourrait être réel.
Et tu vois en effet le bien et le beau
En ce monde. Vois-le d’un regard noble —
Vois l’intention de Dieu, vois ce qui est essentiel ;
Et en toute gratitude, trouve ton bonheur en Dieu.
Man sagt, alles auf dieser Erde
Man sagt, alles auf dieser Erde
Sei unvollkommen. Ja und nein —
Denn ohne Kundgebung des Göttlichen
Könnte die Welt nicht wirklich sein.
Und du siehst ja das Gute, Schöne,
In dieser Welt. Sieh es mit edlem Blick —
Sieh Gottes Absicht, sieh was wesentlich;
Und find in Dankbarkeit, in Gott, dein Glück.
