Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-LXV

The night came with its magic flute,

The night came with its magic flute,

And Leila sang her love song from afar

Throughout my dream until the blush of dawn,

While the veil of darkness parted from us.

Then came the day and brought its woes,

But also remembrance of essential things —

Above all, after the dream’s sweetness and solace,

The radiance of Wisdom, reminding and awakening.

There was the solace and music of beauty—

And then the luminous bliss of the pure Spirit.

La nuit vint avec sa flûte enchantée ;

La nuit vint avec sa flûte enchantée ;

Es kam die Nacht mit ihrer Zauberflöte;

Es kam die Nacht mit ihrer Zauberflöte;
