Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-X
According to Ibn ‘Arabi, the mission of Noah
According to Ibn ‘Arabi, the mission of Noah
Was to emphasize the oneness of God;
The idols of the heathens were in reality God’s Names
Which, however, had long been forgotten.
The response to Noah’s doctrine is that God
Also reveals Himself in multiplicity, in the outward;
And so Noah means: the last word of Truth,
Which has its end in the All-One —
The equilibrium between oneness and radiant perfection.
The meaning of Noah’s ark is the completion
Of the revelation—of the prophet’s mission.
Selon Ibn Arabî, la mission de Noé
Selon Ibn Arabî, la mission de Noé
Fut une mise en évidence de l’Unicité d’Allâh ;
Les idoles des païens étaient des Noms de Dieu,
Toutefois oubliés depuis fort longtemps.
La réponse à la doctrine de Noé est que Dieu
Se manifeste aussi dans le multiple, l’extérieur ;
Hervorhebung von Allāhs Einzigkeit;
Der Heiden Götzen waren Gottes Namen,
Vergessen jedoch seit der längsten Zeit.
Antwort auf Noahs Lehre ist, dass Gott
Sich auch im Vielen, Äußeren bekundet;
Und so bedeutet Noah: letztes Wort
Der Wahrheit, die sich zum All-Einen rundet —
Das Gleichgewicht zwischen der Einzigkeit
Und der ausstrahlenden Vollkommenheit.
Der Sinn der Arche Noahs ist Vollendung
Der Offenbarung — des Propheten Sendung.
