Songs without Names: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Vol. VII-XII-XVII
As seen starting from the ego, God is an object —
As seen starting from the ego, God is an
He is the One Being, the absolutely Other;
As seen by the Divine Self, I am a mere thing,
Not a consciousness that can observe the world.
And yet I am within God’s Being — and He
Is reality within my very core;
Without God’s Selfhood, my ego would be
The Lord is the source of primordial substance and of light.
Vu de l’ego, Dieu est Objet —
Vu de l’ego, Dieu est Objet —
Il est l’Être Un, la Nature Autre ;
Est, dans mon intime fond, la Réalité ;
Ist Er das Eine Sein, das Andre Wesen;
In meinem Urgrund ist die Wirklichkeit;
Ohn Gottes Selbstheit wär die Ichheit nichts —
Der Herr ist Quell des Urstoffs und des Lichts.
