World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes I-III-CXIII
It is taught that only the One Self is real,
It is taught that only the One Self is real,
That the ego is but a reflected image.
In every creature, whatever be his nature,
Let us recognize the trace of the Great Self.
True, yet subtle — Âtmâ’s presence
Is only the invisible manifesting power;
Divinity does not radiate on our earthly level.
Est réel, et que l’ego n’est qu’un reflet ;
N’est que l’invisible Puissance efficiente ;
Sei wirklich, und das Ich sei Abglanz nur;
In jedem Wesen, welcher Art es sei,
Erkenne man des Großen Selbstes Spur.
Wahr, dennoch heikel — Ātmās Gegenwart
Ist nur die unsichtbare Wirkungsmacht;
Die Gottheit strahlt nicht auf der Erdenflur.
