Earthly man is a knot of experience,
Earthly man is a knot of experience,
And these knots interact during life;
Wisdom is what can undo the
One should not defenselessly cling to one’s own ego.
Doubtless you have heard of the Gordian
It was cleft by Alexander’s sword.
And so it is with wisdom, for it can
Cut through the net of folly with one stroke.

Et ces nœuds se rencontrent dans la vie ;
La Sagesse est ce qui peut défaire les nœuds —
