World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-LXVI
There is much beauty in the world —
There is much beauty in the
But much that one likes is vain.
And this is a hard nut to
One cracks problems because one must.
Ephemerality, the illusory nature of
Only what bears witness to the eternal is justified.
Doch viel ist eitel, was gefällt.
Und dies ist eine harte Nuss —
Man knackt Probleme, weil man muss.
Vergänglichkeit, der Dinge Trug —
Nur was vom Ewgen zeugt, hat Fug.
