A German heart — depth and poetry;
A German heart — depth and poetry;
Then comes, by destiny, the Latin element.
But the deepest kernel of my heart, by vocation,
Is Brahma Satyam — the Vedantic spirit
Which was the first in Creation.
These are, from God, my dimensions.
Not that I think here of profound poetry—
An intermezzo can also be justified.
Cœur allemand — profondeur et poésie ;
Cœur allemand — profondeur et poésie ;
Puis vient, par destin, l’élément latin.
Mais le tréfonds du cœur, par vocation,
Est Brahma Satyam — l’Esprit védantin,
Qui fut le premier dans la Création.
Ce sont là, de par Dieu, mes dimensions.
Non qu’ici j’aie songé à de la poésie profonde —
Un intermezzo a aussi ses droits.
