World Wheel: Poems by Frithjof Schuon Volumes IV-VII-LXXXVII
There are three spiritual worlds to which I belong:
There are three spiritual worlds to which I belong:
The primordial world of the Veda, then Sufism,
And then, in the West, the world of the Indians;
Each branch of humanity has something to teach,
For every cosmos shines in its own way.
Metaphysics means the words of the Vedas;
The Name of God is the world of the Sufis;
And our harmony with surrounding creation
Is what pleases the heart of the Indian.
Il m’est permis d’adhérer à trois mondes spirituels :
Il m’est permis d’adhérer à trois mondes spirituels :
Au monde primordial du Véda et au milieu soufi,
Et puis, à l’Ouest, au monde des Indiens ;
Chaque humanité à quelque chose à enseigner,
Car tout cosmos rayonne à sa façon.
La métaphysique équivaut à la Parole védique ;
Le Nom de Dieu est le monde des Soufis ;
Et notre harmonie avec la Création est
Ce qui satisfait le cœur des Indiens.
Drei Geisteswelten darf ich angehören:
Drei Geisteswelten darf ich angehören:
Der Veda-Urwelt und dem Sufikreise
Und dann, im Westen, dem Indianertum;
Jedwelche Menschheit hat etwas zu lehren,
Denn jeder Kosmos strahlt auf seine Weise.
Die Metaphysik ist gleich Vedenwort;
Der Name Gottes ist der Sufi Welt;
Und unser Einklang mit der Schöpfung ist
Was dem Indianerherzen wohlgefällt.
